Job Description

Job Duties
The Nursing Practice Outcomes and Magnet Coordinator works independently and collaboratively with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) of UCLA Medical Center, Santa Monica, the Unit Directors and leadership teams, clinical staff and health system Magnet Program Director to promote quality care and ensure consistency in clinical practices as they relate to nurse sensitive quality outcomes, UCLA policies and procedures and Magnet requirements. He/She manages and supports quality related nursing standards of care for the organization in accordance with organizational goals and objectives as directed. The Nursing Practice Outcomes and Magnet Coordinator also works with the nursing division and other departments across the health system to support the Shared Governance model, to further enhance evidenced-based nursing practice, to improve patient and nursing satisfaction, and to assist with the ongoing development of professional growth opportunities for clinical staff.

Job Qualifications
California RN license. Specialty or ANCC certification preferred BSN Required, Master's degree in Nursing preferred. 3 years of strong clinical experience in healthcare, preferably in a Magnet-designated organization Strong evidence of proven track record to improve the patient experience and clinical outcomes Knowledge and ability to disseminate research and evidence for the improvement of patient care Ability to consult and act as a resource for Magnet initiatives. Ability to utilize: Personal computer with windows and windows-compatible software i.e.: Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word Strong analytical skills and attention to details required Strong English, written and verbal, communication skills required. Strong organizational, planning, coordination, and prioritization skills required. Strong interpersonal, people, mentoring, motivational, and influencing skills required for working with personnel of many varied disciplines, levels of training and education, and levels of performance Experience with NDNQI is preferred as individual will serve as Site Coordinator
