Job Description

Job Duties
Provide technical assistance to the Retina Division at the Jules Stein Eye Institute/Department of Ophthalmology. Major duties include assisting in providing patient care, perform ophthalmic pre-examination work up, stocking patient examination rooms, assisting in the management of patient flow and perform some clerical work.

Job Qualifications
Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology anatomy, physiology as well as disease of the eye and systemic diseases that affect the eye. Knowledge of the principles of the ophthalmic therapy, first aid and treatment of ocular and medical emergencies. Ability to organize and prioritize duties and task. Ability to work under pressure of a busy workload. Have interpersonal skills to maintain comfortable and cooperative working relationships with physicians, patients and co-workers. Ability to work as a team member in an ophthalmic office setting. Flexibility in adapting to new assignments and ability to multi-task. Ability to use ophthalmic equipment including but not limited to chair, visual acuity monitor, tonopen and application tonometer.
