Job Description

Job Duties
The position of the HR Development Coordinator will provide direction and manage HR Development activities for Venice Family Clinic, in partnership with Human Resources. The HR Development Coordinator will develop, implement, manage and facilitate Development programs/activities for Venice Family Clinic. The HR Development Coordinator will be responsible for learning and organization development activities that drive and support an organization wide strategic change effort. Collaborate with the Venice Family Clinic staff to understand strategic and day-to-day objectives and complete comprehensive needs assessment. Work with the Venice Family Clinic HR Director, and collaborate with CCALAC & UCLA, to develop and implement a development management process that includes identification of competencies, employee career & development goals, VFC guiding principles and effective leadership attributes. Translate the comprehensive needs assessment and talent management process results into a learning strategy. Identify, evaluate and/or design courses to address specific learning and development objectives. Courses should include classroom, online, reading and experiential/on-the-job opportunities. Identify, evaluate and/or design leadership development programs for VFC's management teams, and provide ongoing coaching support. Develop communication and marketing methods to educate employees on available learning and development opportunities. Conduct employee surveys and focus groups to ensure employee interests and development goals are built into ongoing needs assessments. Quantify the impacts that development management strategies have in supporting Venice Family Clinic in meeting its goals. Core metrics may include: (a) staff retention rates, (b) volunteer retention rates (c) strong development scores in employee feedback surveys, and (d) improved employee satisfaction/engagement survey scores. Determines appropriate training needs to meet the strategic goals and objectives and makes necessary recommendations. Designs and develops in-service training programs and employee orientation for VFC staff. This includes leadership development, coaching programs, management training, performance management and other development management initiatives. Attends any training, workshops and meetings as seemed necessary by the supervisor. Develop and deliver trainings to community members as appropriate. Must maintain confidentiality. Use discretion with matters of families and program as appropriate. (Any misuse of confidential information may be basis for disciplinary action.) Establish and maintain a relationship of trust with Clinic staff. Establish and maintain professional boundaries with parents when handling program and personal issues. Model effective communication. Use appropriate channels and staff to problem-solve. Meet problem situations with understanding and diplomacy. Use a professional attitude and approach to working with co-workers and community volunteers. Participate and promote a positive working relationship with all staff. Must attend and actively participate in required meetings, workshops, trainings, in-service trainings and committees, etc. a) Initiate and assume responsibility for own learning to keep current of job related issues and best practices. b) Seek training and/or assistance to implement improvements when needed. Support all clinic activities, know and promote the goals and objectives of Venice Family Clinic. Be familiar with and adhere to Venice Family Clinic and UCLA HR Policies and Procedures.

Job Qualifications
Bachelor's/Master's degree in Human Resources or associated field preferred. Two or more years of related experience, with management experience strongly preferred. Other combinations of related experience and education will be evaluated on an individual basis. Good knowledge of organization development principles, team building, and change management. Strong knowledge of adult learning principles. Good knowledge of supervisor, manager and leadership development. Good instructional/curriculum design skills. Strong MS Office skills. Very strong presentation and facilitation skills. Very strong interpersonal communication, relationship and coaching skills. Strong ability to translate identified strategies and objectives into tangible, effective action plans that produce desired results. Able to operate individually and confidently make effective decisions. Able to adapt and facilitate presentations and learning opportunities to suit a particular audience. Ability to prioritize and effectively manage time and resources. Able to measure results and link to strategic business objectives.
