Job Description

Job Duties
The Ultrasound Technologist Per Diem will work to produce diagnostic images of the human anatomy utilizing both stationary and portable ultrasound equipment. Record patient images via appropriate archival media, transfer images as needed. Review clinical information regarding patient along with images with the Radiologist. Print images onto appropriate media. Provide permanent data of procedures as required or requested by the Radiologist. Explain to fellows, residents, and new employee the methods of scanning and equipment operations when directed. Participate in departmental In-Service training programs. Perform first aid on patients until further assistance can be obtained to maintain patient's health. Float between all UCLA Health System Radiology locations (MLK, 100 Medical Plaza, 200 Medical Plaza, RRMC, SMUCLA, SMIR clinic, SM Women's Center, and Manhattan Beach Radiology, thousand Oaks, Porter Ranch, Redondo Beach, Calabasas, and any additional centers). Adhere to on-call, holiday, and weekend schedules as prepared by the manager. Participate in rotating shifts as required Initiate proper requests for required maintenance or repair of equipment. Inspect all devices for damage and ensure they are operating within accepted parameters.

Job Qualifications
Must be ARDMS certified with 1-2 years of experience. Graduate of CAAHAP Sonography program is highly desired. Must have a valid CPR Knowledge of hemodynamic of the vascular system with basic knowledge of venous anatomy. Ability to interpret clinical data and adjust technical factors to produce optimal images. Knowledge of EMR, PACS and operation of Ultrasound Scanner is required.
