We are also interested in the role of genetic changes in the stroma and epithelium in endometriosis and endometrial cancer progression. The candidate will be expected to perform research projects (molecular, biochemical and cellular) related to understanding the molecular, pharmacologic, immunologic and genetic events involved in the formation and progression of gynecologic diseases. Knowledge gained from this research is then used to design and test strategies for cancer treatment and will move to clinical trials. This work requires experience in cell biology, molecular biology, and involves the use of human samples and animal models. Responsibilities will include: preparation of data management forms per protocol, tissue culture work, preparation of RNA, DNA, protein and viruses, FACS analysis, PCR, Immunohistochemistry, equipment maintenance, and preparation of data and manuscripts for publication. Two or more first author publications in reputable peer reviewed scientific journals. Skill in mammalian tissue culture and basic wet chemistry bench techniques such as RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry is required, as is the ability to critically analyze data generated from experiments. Candidates for this position must also have experience working with mouse models of disease, primary human tissues and FACS analysis. The candidate should have a strong background in the field of immunology. Candidates must be well-organized and able to accurately maintain experimental record and databases. The candidate must also be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken English. Working knowledge of standard computer software programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required, as is the ability to conduct standard literature searches and evaluate published data. Ability to work a variable schedule (ie early morning or evening) as needed is required for this position. The person taking this just must be able to work well within a team.
