Job Duties
Under the general direction of the Finance Manager, incumbent will provide financial management and administrative support for the Department of Head & Neck Surgery. Provide financial management of contracts, grants, and clinical trials. Prepare new proposals and provide post-award financial management in compliance with state, federal, agency specific and university policies. Manage effort reporting in compliance with federal guidelines. Create and provide monthly financial reports, ad hoc analysis, projections, reconcile expenses,and assist the Principle Investigators to develop new opportunities for funding. Create reports and analysis of multiple funding sources. Complete projects with speed and accuracy. Manage other department projects as required.

Job Qualifications
Excellent organizational skills to work in a multi-function office with minimal supervision. Skill in using computer software including Excel, Word, Powerpoint and database software. Skill in writing concise, grammatically correct correspondence, reports and manuscripts. Proper telephone etiquette. Skill in prioritizing assignments to complete work in a timely manner when there are changes in workload, changes in assignment, pressures of deadlines and competing requirements. Skill in interacting diplomatically with the public including University officials, patients, health care providers and the general public. Ability to handle sensitive material and information with confidentiality and discretion. Demonstrated knowledge of the principles of Contract & Grant Administration, and applicable policies and procedures. Knowledge of UCLA accounting policies and procedures, financial planning, budget preparation and cost-benefit analysis. Working knowledge of Epic, Care Connect, QDB, and FPM. Ability to establish and maintain a cheerful disposition, and develop cooperative working relationships Ability to analyze data, create accurate standardized and ad hoc reports, and provide oral and written presentations. Knowledge and experience of pre and post award fund management
