Job Description

Job Duties
You believe you can help people regain their independence after an illness or injury. As an Occupational Health Physician at UCLA Health, you'll be responsible for the well-being of our employees. With a new, expanded Operating Room providing twice as much work space, you'll also have a groundbreaking opportunity to mold your environment and create new processes. Your role will include 80% clinical time, with 20% set aside for writing reports required by workers compensation and benefit claims administration. You'll be the point person treating and coordinating care for injured UCLA employees, and you'll also serve as a member of the UCLA Occupational Health Team. At UCLA Health, you can help deliver the care our employees need to consistently be their best. SELECTED DUTIES: Writing workers compensation reports Coordinating specialist and surgical care Completing work status and return-to-work forms Using electronic medical records

Job Qualifications
MD or DO license valid in California Residency training in orthopedic surgery, PM & R, or Family Medicine with Sports Medicine Certificate of Added Qualification--Board certification is a plus Three to five years post residency Strong familiarity with California Workers Compensation rules and report writing requirements Strong clinical, communication, and written skills are essential, as are collaborative skills Experience with urgent and emergent care, and knowledge of the spectrum of acute and chronic injury management is also important for this role
