Assistant General Manager

We are looking for an energetic team member to provide leadership for our moving crews and manage the daily operational aspects of the business. As an Assistant General Manager you will work with customers, staff members and upper management to meet established operating goals and standards. This is accomplished primarily through: hiring, training and motivating employees, controlling costs, and providing outstanding customer service to all TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® customers. What We Offer

* Promote and protect the TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® brand
* Review financial statements, sales/activity reports, and other performance data to measure productivity and goal achievement; determine areas needing cost reduction and program improvement
* Determine staffing requirements and facilitate the hiring process; interview, hire and train new employees (or oversee these processes)
* Responsible for employee development, accountability, and corrective action programs
* Coordinate employee scheduling, truck assignments, and dispatch of movers and drivers
* Direct the fleet maintenance and equipment inventory programs
* Promote safety and uphold safety procedures and policies; ensure compliance with all DOT regulations and FMCSA guidelines
* Calmly and professionally handle displeased customers and oversee the damage resolution process
* Responsible for being the "on-call" emergency contact outside of normal business hours
* Initiate and develop relationships with apartment/condo/senior communities, local realtors, mortgage agencies, and other potential customers; set up regular visit schedules for these customers (grassroots community marketing)
* Actively participate in and coordinate community, industry or other relevant networking events and trade shows
* Manage the sales efforts of our customer service representatives (CSRs) and direct team selling activities; meet with CSRs on a bi-weekly basis to review sales activities and goals
* Utilize sales expertise to book moves, assist CSRs, and perform in-home consultations to secure critical sales
* Provide appropriate weekly and monthly internal reporting to management and review operational reports to project sales and determine profitability; conclude weekly one-on-one sales reviews with management team
* Prepare daily bank deposits
* Responsible for processing job sheets (sales orders) in "Movers Who Care 2®" software, and ensure accuracy and consistency in processing
* Participate in regular training and development programs offered through STICK MEN UNIVERSITY® to further the knowledge of the system
* All other duties as assigned


* Bachelor's Degree in business, management or other related field is preferred
* A minimum of 3 years of business, management or other relevant experience is required; TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® and/or moving industry experience is preferred
* Excellent oral and written comprehension and communication skills
* Exceptional organizational and time management skills
* Demonstrated ability to lead by example to motivate, develop and direct people
* Ability to assess the performance of self, employees and franchise to make improvements or take corrective action
* Strong decision making ability
* Understanding of and commitment to customer service and TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® core values
* Must be proficient with the following Microsoft applications: Excel, Word, Outlook

Work is generally performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards however, occasionally lifting of up to 100 pounds may be necessary. Travel is minimal but may be required for training purposes.
