Description

Coordinate the education and training of Transportation students to gain skills, knowledge and behaviors required to successfully complete the curriculum and support their successful entry in to the workplace; assure accreditation requirements are met for the Transportation programs.

Essential Functions

* Customarily and regularly manage direct reports to maximize productivity, efficiency, and the potential of the human assets of Tulsa Tech, including: directing job assignments, monitoring staff performance, coaching, counseling, training, assuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organizational mission, values, policies and work rules. Appraise performance and provide recommendations for promotion and termination actions, and hiring as appropriate.
* Supervise and provide instructional leadership for assigned programs, including assisting in the research, evaluation, and refinement of program changes in cooperation with program instructors and TTC Instructional Development department: observing and evaluating instructors to support highest level of instructional competency.
* Work with the instructor to develop, write and modify curriculum in accordance with the industry guidelines and work with the instructional staff to assure all accreditation standards are met.
* Evaluate students on a recurrent basis to provide timely indications of student's progress toward competencies and knowledge required for successful completion of program and the effectiveness of the educational program and curriculum.
* Provide academic, personal and behavioral counseling and counseling referrals to students to support their successful completion of program requirements.
* Work with the Marketing department, instructors, and campus director to develop materials to enhance internal and external customer awareness of the programs and encourage continued maximum enrollment levels.
* Maintain up-to-date records of student attendance, academic progress and grades as required by District policy and certification agencies.
* Develop and maintain community/business contacts and participate with industry advisory committees and monitor and adjust as needed intern curriculum requirements in cooperation with the appropriate work based experience advisory committees and instructors.
* Develop and maintain relationships with sending school staff and students. Work with campus outreach to educate sending schools about our programs to aid in recruiting new students.
* Coordinate all aspects of the district transportation AYES agreement program, NATEF certification standards and accreditations.
* Develop and maintain database of industry representatives; recruit and maintain relationships with transportation businesses in providing opportunities for work-based and shadowing experiences for students.
* Perform tasks and duties relevant to any of various roles or responsibilities assigned by supervision and determined by management to be appropriate for this position; comply with all policy, procedure, regulation and other communicated requirements as may be in effect for the workgroup or worksite.

Position Requirements

* This position requires a minimum of three years' experience as an educator with demonstrated leadership responsibilities to include:
* Lead role/participant in committees/teams and/or special projects/assignments
* Mentoring other teachers
* Lead role/participant in Career Tech Student Organizations (CTSO)


* OK Standard Teaching Certificate with Secondary Principal Endorsement and CareerTech Administrators Credential is/are preferred.
* Must have or be able to obtain (within the first year in the position) Oklahoma Teaching and Secondary Administrator/Principal Certification.


* Must have or be able to obtain (within the first year in the position) Oklahoma Department of Career & Technology Education Administrator certificate.


* Oklahoma Driver's License

About Tulsa Tech

Tulsa Technology Center provides an extended curriculum for participating high schools. Three units of credit may be earned by a student attending Tulsa Technology Center each year. Following successful completion, these units are certified by Tulsa Technology Center and transferred to the high school in which the student is enrolled. High school students can also earn college credit toward an Associate in Applied Science degree from Tulsa Community College, Oklahoma State University-Okmulgee or Rogers State University while attending many Tulsa Tech programs.
