Manage production of schedule writing and run cutting inputs and outputs, including data for export to external systems. Lead production of scheduling materials for operators and transportation managers. Manage schedule data technicians and specialists. Oversee analysis, databases, and software customizations for transit scheduling including blocking, run cutting, vehicle assignments, and performance statistics. 1. Manage Schedule Data Technicians and Computer Technology Specialists to ensure accurate and timely production of scheduling and operator workforce materials. 2. Support and back-up Manager Scheduling for computerized run cutting, including operator work assignments, extraboard, and vacation relief. Ensure compliance of run cuts with collective bargaining agreement, budget and operator requirements. Maintain run cutting parameters to ensure accurate Operator payment. 3. Responsible for the day-to-day operation of scheduling projects and procedures, including Hastus software for schedule making, blocking, run cutting and vehicle assignments. 4. Manage scheduling software contracts and upgrades. Oversee software customizations for specialized use of advanced scheduling software functions to analyze and recommend changes for schedules, blocks, run cuts and vehicle assignments. Assist with scheduling data requirements including specialized data querying and manipulation in support of scheduling applications to provide performance information to staff. 5. Report, maintain and document software, procedures and databases to ensure timely and responsive reporting. 6. Manage data transfers between Scheduling systems and agency enterprise database in consultation with IT staff. Monitor data flow to assure appropriate integrity of data, archiving of old data and consistency. Work with IT staff to resolve network, database, server and workstation issues in a timely manner. 7. Ensure scheduling spatial data is in conformance with agency GIS technology standards. 8. Provide effective coaching and counseling to guide employees toward high work standards and performance. Monitor, develop, evaluate and correct employee performance. Prepare and present cases for grievances and terminations. Render appropriate decisions as required in the Working and Wage Agreement. Lead compliance and evaluation of Break Period and other service-related agreements. 9. Remain knowledgable and current of technical advancements in transit scheduling through participation in technical groups, relevant training courses, etc. Apply new information and techniques as appropriate.
Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, planning or related technical field. Five years of progressively responsible experience in the management of transportation operations and/or planning, and two years working in computerized scheduling applications and knowledge of programming and relational databases. Intermediate skills with Word, Excel, Outlook applications and other software applications. Or any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Knowledge of principles and practices of large-scale public transit scheduling, including computerized scheduling systems. 4. Knowledge of the needs and time constraints of end users of scheduling products; awareness of reporting requirements. 7. Ability to supervise a task-oriented production team. 8. Ability to communicate technical information orally and in writing with computer users, programmers, vendors, etc. 9. Ability to effectively communicate in oral and written form. 10. Ability to operate personal computer systems including Word, Excel and Outllok. Demonstrated proficiency to accurately keyboard (type). 11. Ability to work with customers, staff, employees and representatives from the ATU in developing and maintaining a progressive, goal oriented approach to the resolution of issues and problems. 12. Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with employees, supervisors, and the general public, including those from culturally diverse backgrounds, the elderly, persons with disabilities and/or other vulnerable populations.
