Job Description


Trapper Mine will be hiring a Purchasing Manager. This person will be responsible for negotiating with vendors for the purchase of all materials, supplies, equipment and services. The successful candidate will supervise and manage the purchasing, materials management warehousing department and personnel. Additional duties will include maintaining and controlling material and supply inventory including fuels and bulk petroleum products, overseeing insurance coverage processes, insurance related risk management and maintaining buildings and grounds repairs.
Applicant Preferences: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply and Logistics, or a related field; or the equivalent combination of education and experienceA minimum of seven (7) years of supply chain experience including procurement, materials management, logistics and contract administrationStrong knowledge of contracts, commercial and construction law, claims avoidance, insurance, regulatory compliance, risk control and contract administrationPurchasing Certification from accredited organizationExperience with bargaining unit requirements and collective bargaining agreementsAdditional education and/or experience in a purchasing related fieldPrior purchasing supervisory experienceExperience and familiarity with surface mining
