Basic Statement of Functions
Summary: Performs duties in cleaning and servicing of common areas under the close supervision of the Head Housekeeper. Responsible for upholding the company’s cleanliness standards of all common areas located in the hotel. Job Specifications (Qualifications)
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in housekeeping a plus.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Able to read, write and speak some English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Must be able to perform basic math computations at 8th grade level.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to work a varied number of hours per week on a rotating basis.
Ability to understand the enormous part they play in making the total hotel operable.
Must be mature, neat in appearance, courteous, friendly, and outgoing; and know what to do or say in dealing with people.
Must be in good health, able to smile and always be pleasant.
Must be in uniform at all times while on duty.
Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner, and report malfunctions as they occur.
Must be able to learn and comprehend all company policies pertaining to position and employment.
Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.
Ability to see problem areas arise in individual rooms and be able to communicate these problems to the housekeeper either verbally or in writing.
Must possess a sense of discretion and confidentiality.
1. Responsible for maintenance of the entire exterior and interior of the building
2. Responsible for cleanliness of ice machines, swimming pools, saunas, fitness rooms, walls, public bathrooms, guest laundry rooms, meeting rooms, storage rooms, and mechanical rooms.
3. Clean and maintains the hotel’s exterior spaces such as the parking lot and landscaping.

4. Works closely with front desk department, housekeeping department, laundry department, breakfast department, and maintenance department.
5. Maintains a flexible work schedule to cover emergencies.
6. Aids in new construction projects and remodeling as may be needed.
7. Any other duties as assigned by General Manager.
4. Ensures that all projects are completed on time and according to the necessary specifications.
