Basic Statement of Functions
Summary: Responsible for washing, drying, and folding linens. Does stain removal as required. Maintains laundry equipment and facilities in a clean and safe manner. Job Specifications (Qualifications)
Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide. Ability to perform basic math computations at the 8th grade level.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.

ï‚· Must be neat in appearance, courteous, and friendly.
ï‚· Must wear uniform at all times while on duty.
ï‚· Ability to display high degree of pride and integrity in job performance.
ï‚· Must be able to learn and comprehend all company policies pertaining to his or her position and employment.
ï‚· Must be willing and able to learn room attendant's job skills in the event that he or she is asked to do rooms.
ï‚· Must possess a sense of discretion and confidentiality.
1. Gathers linen from rooms or from room attendants as needed.
2. Sorts linens in preparation for washing.
3. Treats stained linen per procedure.
4. Loads washer and dryer according to specifications.
5. Folds and stacks clean linen according to specifications.
6. Stocks linen closets.
7. May be required to clean guestrooms.
8. May perform general cleaning.
9. Other duties as assigned by Head Housekeeper.
