Job Description

Vehicle Mechanic -$20.67-$22.74 per hour – Year round Full Time

Job Description: Performs preventative maintenance and skilled mechanical repair services on light and heavy equipment, town vehicles, specialty power equipment, shop tools and other related work as required. This position is also responsible for assisting with street, grounds maintenance and snow plowing when necessary.

Responsibilities:

  • Performs or assists with mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on Town vehicles and equipment including light trucks, tractors, bulldozers, graders, construction equipment, solid waste units, and all other related equipment.
  • Performs or assists with mechanical problem diagnosis through the use of visual and physical inspection, road testing or use of test devices.
  • Installs specialized mechanical and electrical equipment and accessories on Town vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains a clean and safe shop facility, storage yard and fuel system.
  • Assists with maintenance of work orders and service records.
  • Performs other duties as may be assigned from time to time by supervisor.
  • May be assigned to work with other Public Works divisions on project specific activities.
  • May be required to operate front end loaders, motor graders, backhoes, dump trucks and other specialized equipment.
  • Operates equipment safely and in accordance with training, wears appropriate personal protective equipment, and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to supervisor
  • Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.
  • Adheres to Town of Frisco policies, standards, and regulations including but not limited to proper attire, safety procedures, and overall professionalism.
  • Ability to function and make good decisions in the absence of a supervisor.
  • Communicates in a professional, courteous and timely manner both verbally and written when dealing with Town of Frisco employees, citizens, customers and vendors.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.
