Job Description

The Recreation Department is looking for: Youth Recreation Attendants Part Time - Year Round or Summer Seasonal Positons Available $12.00 - $14.85 Hourly

Position Summary

The Town of Breckenridge Recreation Department is seeking dedicated, highly responsible and customer service oriented individuals for the position of Youth Recreation Attendant - Summer Seasonal. Youth Recreation Attendants are responsible for interfacing with guests in order to meet or exceed guest needs with respect to facility, program or service needs. This includes providing information, implementing or carrying out preplanned programs or activities, assisting with program planning, handling cash, enforcing policies or procedures, and generally representing the department in the most quality and service oriented manner possible.

The individual(s) in this position are responsible for working with children/youth at the Breckenridge Recreation Center, primarily ages 2 months – 12 years old. The duties will primarily involve supervising children ensuring positive interaction; maintaining even control and resolving disciplinary problems; planning and leading camper activities and ensuring children/youth are engaged and participating fully. Youth Recreation Attendants are also responsible for interacting with the campers and parents, being accountable for the campers at all times, and operating within State Licensing requirements for the BMC Summer Camp program and the CATCH after school curriculum. Youth Recreation Attendants are also responsible for adhering to proper check in and checkout procedures; providing excellent customer service and responding to phone and in-person inquires; and supervising children in the center while providing a fun and safe experience. This position may also be responsible for leading games and activities; providing snacks; assisting children in the restroom or changing diapers; cleaning and sanitizing the work area; and other duties as assigned.
