Communications Software Engineer (Full-time)

Eglin AFB, FL

In anticipation of task order funding Torch Technologies is seeking an entry to journeyman level software focused communications engineer with a strong understanding of digital signal processing and firmware to fill an immediate opening for the Shalimar communications lab.

Torch is currently seeking to hire a skilled, motivated, and dependable individual for an Entry-Level Software Engineering position. The qualified candidate must be able to immediately contribute to and work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements. While the individual will be able to draw upon experience from the team, they must also be comfortable completing tasks independently.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Torch is currently seeking to hire a skilled, motivated, and dependable individual for an Entry-Level Software Engineering position. The qualified candidate must be able to immediately contribute to and work within a fast-paced environment, often with evolving requirements. While the individual will be able to draw upon experience from the team, they must also be comfortable completing tasks independently.

Duties will include:

* Designing, implementing, debugging, testing, delivering, documenting, and maintaining high quality software using industry best-practice software engineering solutions
* Working in a modern development paradigm (Agile/Lean/Srum) in a team environment to scope, select, estimate, and work on new tasks each cycle in an iterative development environment
* Analyzing, understanding, and implementing creative solutions to problems
* Supporting the government customer by creating presentations, attending meetings, and reacting to changing requirements
* Actively supporting end-users with technical issues regarding software

Must possess and apply expertise to multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks. Must be capable of developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems and contributes to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

* B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related discipline Experience will not be considered in lieu of a degree.
* Experience or coursework developing applications with object-oriented languages.
* Experience or coursework with multi-threaded software.
* FPGA experience is a plus.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

Position requires that the candidate meet requirements to obtain a final security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to obtain a security clearance will result in candidate being ineligible for this position
