Our Vision for this Role

 

As a member of the Information Risk Management team, the Compliance Analyst works on global cross-functional projects related to Privacy, Compliance and Risk.  Projects could include:

 

  • Compliance with state, federal or international data privacy laws and regulations
  • Internal HR, marketing, LP, IT and other projects impacting personal information, records management efforts
  • Communication and implementation of TJX’s privacy policies
  • Product safety
  • Incident management; works with LP or Security Operations Center to respond to incidents
  • Vendor compliance

The Skills that will Make You Successful

 

  • Bachelor’s degree with 1+ years of experience; prior privacy or information security experience is a plus. 
  • A self-director who can manage their own timelines and set priorities.
  • Takes a collaborative approach! 
  • Exceptional presentation skills; Microsoft Suite proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills; no day is the same in off-price retail, the ability to assess situations quickly and provide alternate solutions is key to success.
  • Common sense and ability to use good judgement; you strive to protect sensitive information. 
  • Excellent communicator (verbal and written) with the ability to build and maintain relationships.
  • Overall working knowledge of privacy issues, laws and regulations a plus; CIPP certification a plus.

 

The Responsibilities You will have in this Role

 

  • Provides in-depth analysis and coordination for privacy and records-management initiatives throughout the company globally.
  • Incorporates privacy processes into TJX’s management of personal information, helps respond to privacy incidents and helps scope privacy assessments.
  • Interfaces with various internal departments to gather information, promote the goals of the program and advises on ways projects can be designed and implemented to minimize information risks.
  • Provides analysis and helps scope privacy initiatives (i.e., data minimization, improving access controls, encouraging appropriate use of personal data).
  • Serves as a resource to associates with specific privacy-related questions.
  • Assists in managing legal, regulatory and financial risks associated with handling and storing personal information.
