Job Summary

The Home Office Loss Prevention Investigator is responsible for the initiation and support of internal and external theft and fraud investigations.  The Investigator will work with various partners, including Home Office Investigations Analysts and field Loss Prevention personnel to eliminate and reduce company exposure to associate and external theft.  This role will leverage all investigative skills and tools, including remote CCTV and must be able to manage multiple tasks and to gain buy in and support of multiple partners to ensure a successful investigation process.  The Loss Prevention Investigator will also work on initiatives that support the company’s Enterprise Video Solution (CCTV).

 

Responsibilities

  • Initiates, conducts and supports internal and external investigations using remote CCTV, multiple data sources, investigative tools and other information received.
  • Partners with Investigations Analyst to validate patterns, trends and exceptions in Point of Sale data.
  • Builds and packages quality case leads for field personnel to further investigate, providing actionable data, video and investigative support.
  • Collaborates with field investigators to bring cases to closure in a timely manner.
  • Supports field Loss Prevention organization with other types of requests requiring video review.
  • Works with various LP and IT business partners to support key initiatives and advanced functionality of Enterprise Video Solution (CCTV).
  • Participates in field LP staff coaching and creates investigative tools that will enhance the organization’s knowledge and productivity in all types of investigations.
  • Develops relationships and partnerships with the field organization, other Home Office departments and industry peers.
  • Participates in special assignments with a shrink reduction and/or investigative focus.
  • Assists with other TJX and Loss Prevention Programs as needed.  Makes recommendations to senior management regarding procedural and business opportunities.

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Criminal Justice or Business Management preferred).
  • Strong interpersonal and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2-3 years of Loss Prevention investigative experience, including multi-store investigation experience.
  • Competent in the use of retail CCTV systems, preferably Genetec.
  • Knowledge of retail store operations.
