Job Description

Senior Marketing Specialist

Times-Union Media is looking for a high energy Senior Marketing Specialist who will collaborate in the development of marketing campaigns and project concepts in support of both consumer marketing projects and B2B lead generation efforts, offering insights on the latest trends in marketing. The Specialist will assist the sales team in increasing quality leads for Times-Union Media by promoting our digital services, products, resources and capabilities. Will support lead generation efforts and nurture campaigns through email marketing and monthly newsletters. Assist in managing social media networks for Times-Union Media, utilizing both organic and paid strategies to promote digital services including @timesunionmedia Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram and Google plus. Throughout the year, the Specialist will plan and execute integrated marketing campaigns to support special promotions, publications and special events. Will manage and execute ongoing organic and paid social media strategies on Times-Union channels. Will design and implement direct email marketing campaigns. Analyze campaign performance and suggest improvements (i.e., open rates, click through rates, and conversions). Reserve house ads and digital media placements and see them through to completion. Additional responsibilities include maintaining inventory of brand promotional items, coordinate reservations of house print and digital media placements. Also assist video producer on video shoots.

Qualifications: Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, Communications, PR or equivalent work experience. 2-5 years' experience in a marketing-related role. Excellent writer and communicator (in both the written and verbal form) and creative thinker, with an ability to use data to inform all decisions. Knowledge and implementation of digital advertising and social media advertising tactics. Must have computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite (including Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and G Suite. Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, HTML/CSS, WordPress, Google Adwords certification. Knowledge of ad tracking programs, HubSpot Sales CRM and Marketing, Photography/Videography, Facebook Blueprint Certification are a plus.
