Job Description


The K-12 Education Account Manager is responsible for specific sales functions in an assigned territory. The focus of this position will be on generating revenues with mid-to large sized school districts and select private school organizations. The Account Manager is responsible for managing a territory and achieving established sales and gross profit targets. They will also develop a pipeline, forecast, solicit and secure orders from potential and existing customers, and provide customer service as needed. They will also represent Tierney Brothers, Inc. in a professional manner.


  • Achieve Revenue and Gross Profit objectives.
  • Accelerate territory sales growth with assigned targeted key districts and larger private school organizations.
  • Assist with revenue generation when necessary with smaller districts.
  • Retain existing customers and develop new business.
  • Maximize overall performance utilizing "effort-based" metrics such as frequency of contact, account penetration, pipeline and retention.
  • Focus on achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales and gross profit targets.
  • Works together with Inside Account Manger to leverage relationships, increase sales and deliver a high level of service.
  • Achieve a complete understanding of all technology products and services provided by Tierney Brothers, Inc.
  • Timely attention to pipeline development, daily call reporting, commission reports and monthly expense reporting utilizing NetSuite (CRM).
  • Attend all sales meetings

  • Persistence, high energy levels and strong interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated sales and negotiation skills
  • Knowledge of technology and audio visual products
  • Technical aptitude
  • Proven sales experience (3-5 years) including prospecting, presentation and closing skills or comparable experience
  • Exceptional written communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal communication and listening skills
  • Strong computer skills

A college degree and at least 3-5 years sales experience (preferably within the education industry). Sales experience in comparable industries preferred.
