Job Description

As a Supervisor within Global Fund Accounting, you will assume accountability and responsibility for the daily operations of a Fund Financial Service's unit(s), including responsibility for the daily operations and the crew of a Fund Financial Service's unit(s).

In this role, you will...

* Supervise and develop staff by providing guidance, training and motivation as necessary. Follow corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Set performance standards, review performance, provide feedback, recommend wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
* Ensure the accurate and timely resolution of cash and asset breaks by the predetermined service levels. Evaluate internal control environment and ensure key internal controls exist and operate effectively.
* Assess current department procedures and propose/implement changes to strengthen internal controls, enhance efficiency and maximize the usage of technology. Consider impact of procedural changes on Fund Accounting, custodian banks, vendors, as well as clients. Ensure smooth implementation of all new processes.
* Document and/or update existing documentation for all processes, procedures and work flows for systems-related tasks to ensure up-to-date and accurate resources are available to assist new and existing crew within the group.
* Gather, review and summarize key dashboard indicators. Identify trends and ensure appropriate linkage to business risks and process improvement projects.
* Oversee the day-to-day operations and administrative activities. Conduct audits of work performed and reviews errors with the crew (employees) as they arise.
* Promote a team atmosphere in the department and Vanguard as a whole. Foster a "one Vanguard" attitude. Encourage crew to provide ideas and feedback.
* Effectively communicate and present results to management.
* Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Undergraduate degree (Accounting, Finance or Business preferred) or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Minimum three years of business related experience. Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
* Proficiency in Fund Accounting procedures preferred.
* Strong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
