Retail Systems is seeking a Project Team Manager within Retail Advice Technology to manage and oversee both ongoing software development, production support, configurations, and scheduled project requirements that affect the technology environment and to promote a streamlined client interface through technology. In addition, this role will manage and develop a team and provide expert level IT project management leadership by developing, implementing, and monitoring project plans. Coordinates project teams for the design, development, and installation of software deliverables.

Qualities of the ideal candidate:

* Undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
* Eight years of experience in an IT/technical role. For development only: Includes 1-3 years' developer experience.
* Two plus years of demonstrated leadership experience preferred.
* Exceptional leadership and communication skills
* Strong analysis and problem solving skills.
* Place high importance/priority on meeting commitments
* Strong planning and organizational skills.
* Strong ability in driving business results through others, setting clear expectations, and holding accountable parties to expectations while being enabling and supportive

Job Description - Duties and Responsibilities

This staff member completes the following activities under minimal direction:

Provides expert level IT project management for software deliverables. Manages large and complex projects or multiple concurrent medium/small projects. Uses IT's project management standards to deliver projects on time, within budget, and with agreed upon functionality and quality to internal client.

Develops, implements, and monitors technical project plans. Identifies deliverables, milestones, and tasks for the project(s). Interviews team members for estimates. Updates schedule in IT Project database. Plans and integrates schedule, resources, and deliverables with IT departments and vendors.

Communicates with internal client, team members, management, and IT partners to ensure requirements and priorities are understood. Monitors project progress, and distributes reports to management and client.

Leads and facilitates design and test inspections, and other project meetings throughout product life cycle to identify issues. Leads and facilitates other project meetings.

Develops strong relationships with client. Meets with client to advise on resources, budget, and deliverables. Helps client write document deliverables and coordinates efforts of team members helping to write client deliverables.

Develops deep knowledge of the business area supported. Assists business in driving out multi-year technology plan.

Manages staff. Develops, mentors and provides guidance, training and motivation as necessary. Conducts regular one on one and staff meetings. Hires, evaluates and counsels crew. Follows corporate disciplinary procedures per established Vanguard standards as required. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, provides feedback, and recommends wage increases in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.

Monitors completion of each person's deliverables (e.g., business system analyst, functional requirements). Mentors and develops technical crew at lower grade levels.
