Position Summary:Responsible for providing advanced technical skills in performaing various clinical laboratory tests and procedures and provides support in all areas of the laboratory to include Chemistry, Hematology, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Transfusion Services, Specimen Processing and Phlebotomy. Serves as generalist/floater working in all sections of the laboratory as needed. Collects and performs routine complex laboratory procedures recognizing deviation from expected results, and analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles. Performs and records appropriate quality controls and reviews the results acting to identify and correct problems, reporting problems to supervisors. Follows all laboratory and hospital policies and procedures. Assists in teaching and training of students and new employees, cooperates with supervisor - responding in a timely manner - for competency assessment data, human resources requests, documentation of procedural changes and other information as requested. Perform related duties as required.
Minimum Required Education: Associate degree in MLT. ASCP certified MLT or equivalent.
Minimum Required Experience: 2 years experience or more preferred but not required.
Licensure/Certification Required: MLT
