Job Description

The Non-invasive Cardiology Nurse will assist the Department in providing high quality care to non-invasive, cardiac testing patients. RN will plan and deliver patient care utilizing the Nursing Process and following all established standards of practice within State and Federal guidelines. The Non-invasive Cardiology Nurse will be proficient in monitoring and patient assessment and Pre/Intra/Post care particular to the patients in the Non-Invasive Cardiology department and be competent in the management of patients undergoing Cardioversion, Trans Esophageal ECHO, and all types of Stress Testing. The Non-Invasive RN will coordinate the schedule with cardiology, anesthesia and the various specialties for both the inpatient and outpatient population. In addition he/she will provide support to non-RN personnel.

Schedule: Part time - Monday-Friday, 20 hours/week

No weekends, call or holidays

MHOSP

Required Skills

1) Current Connecticut RN license

2) Current BLS and ACLS certification

3) 2 years of Inpatient Cardiology experience required

4) Knowledge of nursing theories, practices and standards of care, as well as overall knowledge with the basic principles, purposes and protocols related to cardiology

5) Proficient in rhythm strip interpretation and arrhythmia detection. Knowledgeable to intervene in emergency situations

6) BSN highly preferred
