Job Description

SUMMARY OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The intern will experience and contribute to the various aspects of the education and outreach initiatives of The Smith Center gaining knowledge in the importance of art education in lifelong learning.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

* Assist in preparing information and materials for local schools attending student matinees, i.e. formatting classroom guides for teachers, labeling and packaging books and classroom guides for distribution.
* Assist in preparing and participating in program events hosted by the Education and Outreach Department. These events include, but are not limited to student matinee performances, professional development workshops for teachers and special events.
* Working with The Smith Center staff in order to ensure that students, teachers, and chaperones are directed to their designated areas for Student Matinees.
* Creation of surveys for feedback from program participants.
* Programming electronic tablets and assisting with data collection for the various events hosted by the department.
* General office tasks, such as printing packets, inputting information into Excel spreadsheets, creating templates for word documents, and so forth.

* Ability to work in a team, and independently, when needed
* Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Photoshop, Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel)
* Knowledge of various performing arts disciplines
* Strong interest in education and learning across ages and demographics preferred
