Job Description

The Affiliated Santé Group (Santé) is a dynamic and leading provider of crisis psychiatric care and system management services to public and private entities. Santé, a nonprofit entity, also manages mental health outreach and psychiatric recovery services. It has been delivering mental health care to individuals and families and pioneering new treatment modalities since 1974. We are currently seeking interns for our Montgomery and Prince George Clinics located in Silver Spring, MD and Lanham, MD. The internships offer $500 per semester.

The Therapist (Intern) provides a variety of psycho therapies to assigned clients based on their privileging. They Document and bill for appropriate services in compliance with company policies and procedures, and coordinate treatment with internal and external treatment team members.

Required Qualifications:

* Must be enrolled in a Master's Degree in related field (Psychology, Social Work, Rehabilitation Counseling, or Mental Health Counseling for Psychiatric Rehabilitation)
* Must be able to work with high-risk consumers who have mental illnesses as well as developmental and physical disabilities (ie: must have patience, and must be able to effectively communicate with diverse consumers, etc.).
* Must have knowledge of Internet and Microsoft Office software (MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Outlook).
* Must be able to be trained on Electronic Medical Record software.
* Excellent communication skills

Responsibilities:

* Provides evidenced based treatment in various individual, group, and/or family therapy treatment modalities based on their privileging
* Provide quality intakes and possess a basic understanding of diagnostic evaluation methods, mental status exams, and use of the current DSM
* Provide crisis intervention services when required
* Provides services in conformance with the Recovery Model
* Responsible for the timely development/submission of the Individual Treatment Plan (ITP) in the EMR and Treatment Reviews per policy and procedure
* Maintain communication with Primary Care Provider through duration of treatment through the PCMH and the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
* Provides referrals to community agencies as needed and maintain communication for treatment planning purposes
* Complies with clinical productivity standards as established by Program Director and the Clinical Director
* Other duties as assigned
