Job description

The Information Security Engineer is responsible for developing, monitoring, evaluating and maintaining solutions to protect Interface systems from unauthorized access and information loss. This Information Security Engineer is a member of the Global Information Security Team that creates, implements, and evaluates security standards, guidelines, and procedures relating to network security, host security, and data security both on premise and in the cloud. The team will address protection solutions (Firewalls, IPS, WAF, etc.), detection solutions (IDS, event monitoring, etc.) and response and recovery solutions and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform risk assessment of internally developed solutions and cloud based solutions and services
  • Partner with business teams to identify secure solutions to business problems
  • Perform security scans and security testing to identify vulnerabilities and propose solutions to mitigate identified issues
  • Implement security technology solutions for prevention of unauthorized access and detection of security events
  • Investigate possible security breaches and respond to contain and recover from any security incidents
  • Support multiple security technologies and platforms both on premise and cloud based
  • Evaluate vendor security controls to ensure continued security compliance with Interface standards
  • Author and review security technology and process standards and policies
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging security, compliance, and technical developments
  • Identifies current and potential future vulnerabilities and collaborates with appropriate leaders to identify, recommend, and develop risk remediation plans
  • Promotes security best practices via awareness, example, and compliance with policies and regulatory requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years demonstrated experience with focus in areas such as systems, network, mobile, and/or application security
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing information security and network security architectures
  • 5+ years of experience with administration, design and implementation of security controls including experience in applying methodologies and principles for all levels of security
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience in presenting technical issues to all levels of management, as well as non-technical staff
  • Hands on experience with at least 2 or more security technologies (eg Firewalls, IDS, IPS, WAF, SIEM, DLP, etc.)
  • Familiarity with and ability to apply time-proven, generally-accepted security management methodologies, concepts and techniques
  • Strong understanding of current and developing information security technologies and trends
  • Experience with Mobile security issues and solutions
  • Applicable professional/technical certifications such as CISSP, GPEN, GWAPT, GISEC, CISM or CISA
  • Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills
  • Knowledge of project management practices
  • Fundamental or greater understanding of encryption technologies
  • Knowledgeable of industry security standards and organizations such as SANS and OWASP
  • Knowledgeable of one or more information security frameworks (ISO 27001/27002, NIST, US Cyber Security)
