Job Description

Design Engineer at RCBI

The Robert C. Byrd Institute (RCBI), West Virginia's Advanced Manufacturing Technology Center, is accepting resumes for a Design Engineer.


The Design Engineer will work with manufacturers and entrepreneurs to develop opportunities, ideas, concepts, trainings and innovative strategies that allow them to take their concepts, designs, and ideas and develop them into practical, sustainable, economically viable solutions that create jobs. The position, which requires travel, is responsible for designing new products and processes using computer-aided design (CAD) software such as AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks, Mechanical Desktop and Solid Edge and CAM including Mastercam, SurfCAM, GibbsCam and similar software.

Required Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree is required, preferably in Engineering and Engineering Technology; a minimum of four years of industrial experience with a strong technical background in manufacturing that includes experience with Metallurgy, Engineering Materials, Manufacturing Processes and Machining.

Preferred Qualifications:  Experience and/or exposure to 3D Printing is a plus, as is hands-on instruction or training experience.

Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
