Job Description

The ESL Administrative Associate position provides support for the department of Teaching and Learning's English as a Second Language programs, including: TraVerse, American Language Program, Spoken English Program, and ESL Composition Program. This position serves as front line support for each program including the intake of all calls, emails and inquiries from students, department contacts and external stakeholders; additionally, the incumbent provides administrative support for program directors and coordinators, processes applications and is responsible for the scheduling and coordinating of logistics and resources for the ESL Programs; the position also assists with processing admissions materials and registration for the American Language Program and serves as the primary contact for the university's Registrar's Office, the Office of the Bursar, the Office of International Affairs, and other units as needed; in addition to providing support for the program's coordinators and lecturers, the ESL Administrative Coordinator plays a pivotal role in maintaining the university's Student Information System activities related to the program; this effort ensures students and external customers are kept aware of the student progress and activity within the program, an essential piece to delivering on ESL's mission and commitment to the university and surrounding community.
