Job Description

If you're an MBA student seeking a rewarding, fast-paced summer internship combining corporate innovation and technology, MITRE is the place for you.

The MITRE Acceleration Team is developing new opportunities around AI/ML, big data analytics, cloud, digital healthcare, advanced air and space transportation, and a broad range of cyber technology and solutions….

On the MITRE Acceleration Team, you can explore your potential outside of the classroom and take the lead on high-impact projects. You'll find autonomy, mentorship, and development opportunities in an open and collaborative environment.

Successful MBA intern candidates will be placed into key functions across the Acceleration Team dependent on a combination of interest, skills and experience, and growth potential. This internship will provide the opportunity to spend about 10 weeks at MITRE Boston/Bedford and/or DC/McLean campuses and allow you to dig deep on a project while learning about many exciting initiatives across MITRE.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in definition and optimization of corporate innovation and incubation processes
* Conducting robust market research and competitive landscape activities related to business development opportunities.
* Develop external market perspectives to complement our robust internal data to help the organization make smarter decisions.
* Work with opportunity teams to help identify areas of risk and assist with clarifying / test their assumptions.
* Develop opportunity evaluation criteria and metrics. Assist in refining how we admit new opportunities to the incubator and measure their progress.
* Assist product and opportunity teams with data-driven strategic thinking and business advisory.
* Assist the Innovation Team leadership in crafting business cases for the incorporation of existing and emerging technologies into the MITRE "Good Growth" Strategy that can create outstanding impact for a safer world.
* Assist in creating a framework by which the Innovation Team will value technologies and work to create a portfolio approach to project selection.
* Conduct external interviews, focus groups and other data gathering and hypothesis testing initiates
* Present analyses compellingly and clearly to Innovation Team leadership, as well as internal collaborators.
* Strategic pricing and pricing analytics; developing, hypothesizing and testing new pricing strategies and/or business models.
* Assist teams in progressing though our incubator pipeline. Strong candidates will be excited about thinking critically about business strategy, analyzing data and developing methodologies to test new ideas in the market with the opportunity teams.
* First-year MBA candidates with a strong track record of academic excellence
* Experience in technology and/or healthcare companies a plus
* Ability to think and perform both tactically and strategically
* 2+ years of experience in technology, strategy consulting and/or the healthcare
* Comfortable in a data-driven business environment
* Excellent interpersonal and team work skills
* Familiarity with Lean and Design Thinking methodologies
* Thorough understanding of evaluation techniques (e.g. forecasting, P&L modeling, cost analysis, NPV) are critical.
* Able to work effectively in a fast-paced, small group environment.
* Intellectually curious and creative thinker
* Legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future is required Education
