Job Description

The Middlefield Banking Company is a full service FDIC-insured commercial bank operating 14 branches and an LPL Financial® brokerage office in Geauga, Ashtabula, Portage, Trumbull, Lake, Franklin, Delaware, Cuyahoga and Summit Counties. We are currently seeking a Loan Data Specialist for our Middlefield Administrative Office. The Loan Data Specialist will be responsible for entering information on new loans into the various loan data systems and understanding the systems sufficiently to ensure the data input is correct, accurate and appropriately reflected in the loan documents, general ledger and third party reporting both to internally for Bank call reports and to the customer.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Enter all types of new loan data into the system by uploading or individually to include all G/L and monetary processing.

  • Perform maintenance on all existing loans including non-post items to ensure compliance with documents, reporting, secondary market reporting and all other regulatory compliance.

  • Close all paid off loan files in the system according to compliance.

  • Process charge offs, non-accruals and other adjustments for delinquent loans or loans where systems adjustments are requested by authorized parties.

  • Assure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures, with respect to file completion as well as, all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

  • Record and ensure HMDA data is accurate and timely.

  • Ensure liens as required on all types of security agreements are of record and processed timely and accurately.

  • Maintain all insurance documentation including force placed, flood, PMI and hazard on all types of loans.

  • Maintain escrow accounts on all types of loans.

  • Maintain ticklers on all loan systems including loan interest rate indexes.

  • Work closely with Loan Documentation Specialist to ensure loans are complete and scanned.

  • Process rate change notifications and ensure accuracy on system.

  • Prepare loan modifications upon the approval of the appropriate authority including release or exchange of all types of collateral, real and personal.

  • Maintain and process all participation accounts including SBA related accounting.

  • Quote and process payoffs of all types of loans.

  • Prepare and process subordination documentation when needed.

  • Track loan denials
