Job Description

* This internship posting is exclusively for the Salt Lake City area.*

Description: Layton Construction is seeking detail-oriented, self-starting data entry personnel for a paid internship in Layton's Sandy, Utah, office during the summer of 2019. Your job will be to work with the Marketing Information Specialist to update and enter information into the company database that is used for business analytics.

General hours are Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, although flexible work hours will be available with advance notice after completing the training and probationary periods. Opportunities for overtime may also exist, but will not be required.


* Will update information in the Cosential database in accordance to a set style guide using multiple input sources (i.e. MS Word, MS Excel, InDesign, etc.).
* Will search company records to consolidate and compare available information in the database.
* May be required to reach out to key personnel (or create emails to forward to key personnel) to verify and/or gather new project information.
* Will maintain open communication with Layton's Marketing Information Specialist as projects are completed, if something is not understood, if information does not match, or to offer systems improvements (comfort with this open feedback is huge).
* May be asked to use new module build-outs to test them (and provide improvement feedback) prior to company-wide rollout.


Required: Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in University.

* Must have incredible attention to detail, and ability to standardize information from multiple inputs/sources in accordance to a set style guide.
* Must be able to find information from multiple sources.
* Must be able to prepare emails that will be forwarded to key staff to gather or verify missing information (after exhausting all other sources).
* Must be comfortable providing feedback and asking questions (this is a new team, and open feedback is huge).
* Ability to self-start and remain motivated on long-term tasks.

Previous experience with the Cosential Database is preferred, but not required.

Prior internship/corporate experience is preferred, but not necessary.
