Internship Overview

Hershey's Business Analyst Intern position provides a launching pad for our future sales and analytical leaders. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with our customers, analyze customer and shopper insights to build selling stories and develop your business acumen skills.

Hershey's Business Analyst internship is a mix of sales, category management, marketing and marketing research - Hershey's Category Management department researches/analyzes data to understand the present, and then utilizes that information to impact the future.

Hershey's Business Analyst intern has the ability to influence the marketplace by making strategic recommendations within the following: item assortment, product placement, promotions and pricing.

As a Business Analyst intern, you will have the opportunity to work with the following departments: Category Development, Sales, Retail, Finance, Marketing and Information Systems


* Develop/Implement specific Category Management Projects/Reports, to support Hershey's sales goals at Kroger
* Develop fact-based analysis of customer business trends utilizing a variety of data sources
* Utilize all appropriate Hershey business systems to identify key selling opportunities for Kroger, to include: IRI, 84.51 (Loyalty), Market 6, APT, Space Management, etc
* Analyze sales information regarding key category programs & promotions (Seasons, Olympics, NCAA, etc)
* Identify/Develop productive new processes to enhance the overall Hershey's Business Analyst team, which includes creating efficiencies within the Hershey's Sales organization and other cross functional departments


* A current undergraduate with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher (preference is 3.2 or higher)
* Majors in Business Administration, Finance, Marketing, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, and Information Systems are highly preferred, but others will be considered
* Demonstrated leadership & academic achievement in student and extracurricular activities
* High level of integrity
* Energy and passion for winning
* Adaptability and ability to work independently
* Professional communication skills
* Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
* Customer service orientation
* Effective planning and organizing skills
* Previous internship and/or sales analytical experience is a plus

Work Schedule

This position will begin after the conclusion of the Spring 2020 semester, working 40 hours a week throughout the summer. The duration of the internship is dependent upon the student's performance, with the goal to finish upon the student's graduation (ie, multiyear internship possible). If internship is extended into the 2020/2021 school year, 20-25 hours per week is required while school is in session. Successful interns will be offered full-time, entry level, Sales/Analyst positions within The Hershey Company.
