Job Description

Summary:

Environmental Safety Compliance Interns: The Student Intern, under direct supervision, will work with corporate and operations personnel in support and development of safety projects and processes to advance performance and compliance for improved safety and reduction of risk. The intern will collaborate with ESC colleagues to develop safety awareness training, assess and evaluate hazards and participate in the identifying recommended options to address findings.



Responsibilities:

- Provide entry level professional services as appropriate to support the day-to-day project activities.
- Interacts directly with THC and plant colleagues to assess and recommend options to address operational issues.
- Participate in projects and programs designed to develop professional skills and expertise pertinent to the needs of the organization.
- Research and/or troubleshoot problems recommending solution alternatives.
- Participate in project management activities and the planning process. Report to management on the status of project efforts and provide work effort estimates.



Qualifications:

Education: Students must have completed junior (3rd) year undergraduate studies and be enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in Safety, Industrial Hygiene or Environmental Science.

Experience: Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills; Strong oral and written communication skills (technical and non-technical). Demonstrated problem solving skills. Entry level experience of hazard assessment. Good working computer skills.
