Job Description

HVAC Technician

The Henry Ford, located in Dearborn is seeking a full-time HVAC Technician! Responsible for installing, servicing, and repairing residential, commercial and industrial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration systems. Responds to requests to ensure visitor and staff comfort and the preservation of artifacts. Associate’s degree or technical school certification preferred. Minimum seven years’ residential/commercial/industrial experience. HVAC license required.

Essential Functions

  1. Installs, repairs and services heating, ventilation and refrigeration systems. 
  2. Monitors, trouble shoots, and makes necessary program adjustmentsto computerized systems.
  3. Prioritizes and schedules repair requests. 
  4. Orders and maintains supplies and equipment. 
  5. Performs other activities as necessary. 
  6. Contributes to the effective team management of all problems, issues and opportunities. 
  7. Acts as a team player and provides expertise within the team and with other teams as appropriate. 

Special Skills
Ability to read blueprints, complete ductwork drawing and facilitate installation. Capable of operating a variety of hand and power tools. Good communication skills and must be capable of working without direct supervision. Frequently works above and below grade level and in crawls or confined spaces.
