Investment Operations Internship, HIMCO

Hartford Investment Management Company (HIMCO), a subsidiary of The Hartford Financial Services Group, is committed to being a leading provider of investment management solutions.

About the internship

This is a 10-week experience designed to fully immerse analysts in the buy-side investment management industry by working alongside HIMCO's Business Operations team. Operation Analysts are offered extensive learning opportunities such as specific subject training, lunch-time speaker series with senior executives, mentoring, mock-trading competitions, charity and social events. Analyst contributions during his/her internship will culminate in a capstone project presentation to provide an opportunity for exposure to HIMCO senior leaders.

About the team

HIMCO's Business Operations is comprised of Investment Operations, Middle Office, Fund Administration and Project Management Teams. An Operations Analyst would gain exposure to selected critical functions owned by this business group, including: trade confirmations and settlement, corporate actions, cash forecasting and reconciliation, performance measurement & attribution, valuation and data & reporting solutions.

What we are looking for

Our team is looking for highly motivated individuals with a strong record of academic achievement, and

* Basic knowledge of financial markets and deep interest in exposure to a broad array of investment asset classes and business support functions

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Excellent time management, organizational and communications skills
* Some business related course work (e.g. finance, economics)
* Proficiency with computer systems including Microsoft Office
* Students expecting to graduate between June 2021 and December 2021 with a Bachelor's degree
