Job Description

As a member of the Underwriting Support Center Service Operations Team working in conjunction with the Account Manager and Presale team, this position is accountable for the post-sale transactions, including bookings, policy issuance, endorsements and critiques for new and renewal business.

Applies independent thought on post-sale transactions; communicates and works directly with Account Manager and Underwriters as necessary to deliver accurate policy documents and resolve problems. Independently manages post-sale accounts while adhering to processing and quality standards. Communicates with internal staff on all aspects of post-sale account maintenance, ensuring the security and stability of accounts.

Sales Support: Responsible for supporting the Account Manager in servicing new and renewal accounts. Communicates directly with internal customers to obtain required underwriting information and ensure accurate policy delivery.

Service Support: Independently follow up with internal customers to obtain missing data. Verify and analyze account details, work with Account Managers, Underwriting staff and Pre-Sale Team in maintaining book of business. Thoroughly communicate with Account Manager to effectively balance workload and ensure account requirements are understood by all internal and external customers. Is a technical resource on post-sale system.

Workload/Desk Management: Responsible for handling a high volume of complex transactions. Support account retention and the overall stability of the book of business through effective adherence to quality, timeliness and productivity standards. Multi-task, prioritize and manage daily work activities. Organizes work so that others can easily determine what needs to be done and effectively continue the work and respond to customers as needed. Maintains an effective pending/diary/follow-up system. Maintains a professional/organized work area.


* Prior Commercial Market Insurance industry experience as an Underwriting Assistant, Rater or Account Manager at either a company or agency
* Knowledge of the following primary insurance coverage's: Workers Compensation, Auto, General Liability, Property
* College Degree preferred
* Strong Customer Service and Relationship Building skills required
* Effective Communication Skills / Written and Verbal
* Strong Customer Service Orientation
* Good Automation Skills and strong technical ability
* Professional Demeanor
* Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point Software
* Works Autonomously
* Ability to shift work efforts quickly and make decisions in a fast past environment
