Position Details:

The candidate will be engaged in a challenging assignment within our team's portfolio of augmented reality development projects which focus on improving manufacturing, quality and in-service support of Boeing products. Candidate will get hands-on experience with augmented reality devices in production or support environments.

Typical responsibilities include:

* With guidance, creating applications in Unity, programming modules to support backend connection to Boeing's IT systems, testing code, programming GUIs, and gathering, documenting and maintaining requirements/procedures (e.g., code documentation, user manuals, etc.).


* The candidate will be coordinating with other team members to integrate their part of the project into the whole and reporting results to the team and management.


* The candidate will be assigned a mentor on the team to help ensure success.



A Successful Candidate Needs:

* Highly motivated self-starters who can apply basic engineering skills to current team projects.


* Candidate is expected to leverage industry and academic resources to accelerate technology maturation.


* Previous experience with 3D modeling systems, Unity and Augmented Reality devices is preferred.


* Candidate will work in a dynamic research and development environment and must be comfortable interacting with team members and with other engineering and manufacturing disciplines outside the team.



Occasional travel to other Boeing sites across the enterprise may be required. The candidate may need to operate in a manufacturing environment, lift small loads (>30lbs), and wear/operate a head mounted display with voice or hand gestures.

Qualifications

Typical Education/Experience:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Required Qualifications:

* This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.
* Education or experience in C, C++, Python, Java, Scala or similar programming languages
* Bachelor's or higher in Engineering

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience developing virtual reality and/or augmented reality applications


* Experience in CAD/CAM software


* Experience in Unity 3D


* Experience in Vuforia


* Experience with augmented reality devices (Microsoft Hololens, etc).


* Machine vision (e.g. photogrammetry, laser scanning, structured light systems, etc.)


* 3D environment mapping


* Coordinate Frame Transformation


* Matrix Manipulation


* Point Cloud Processing
