Job Description

The Boeing Company is seeking a Reliability Engineer Entry Level to generate unit and system level reliability analyses through all product lifecycle phases at our El Segundo, CA facility.

The engineer will interface with other technical disciplines in a team environment to trade factors such as reliability, cost, weight and performance in arriving at the final design for spacecraft flight hardware.

Position Responsibilities:

* Prepare mathematical models, failure rate predictions, electrical stress derating, and failure modes and effects analyses.
* Apply an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to perform analyses, design, development and verification of balanced system solutions.
* Evaluate customer and operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and ensure compatibility with physical, functional and program interfaces.
* Assist with analyses for reliability, maintainability, availability, testability, and other specialty engineering functions to ensure mission success.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

* Experience having worked in a diverse team environment.
* Minimum Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
* Proficiency using computer applications such as Excel and Word

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

* Experience utilizing applied mathematics in the areas such as statistics or mathematical modeling.
* Experience in reliability modeling, failure rate predictions, electrical stress derating, failure modes effects and/or criticality analyses.
* Experience in aerospace, automotive, robotics, aviation, space, ships or similar industry.
* Experience in mechanical systems and/or electronics design, fabrication and test.
* Experience with software tools such as Windchill Quality Solutions (WQS), Reliasoft, MatLab and Mathematics.

Typical Education & Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
