The Boeing Company is seeking a Systems Engineer Entry Level to support the Space and Launch division in Seal Beach, CA

Position Responsibilities

* Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify basic lifecycle balanced system of systems and system solutions.


* Evaluates customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.


* Performs analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.


* Performs analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.


* Supports the planning, organization, implementation and monitoring of requirements management processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment processes.


* Develop Ground Segment Operational Products in support of Space based systems.


* Product design, development, and test.


* Become effective in complex system level threads required to run missions in space.


* Use systems skills to become very knowledgeable in how the space systems operate, providing a very challenging and rewarding position understanding the total end to end Mission.

Qualifications

This position requires an active U.S. Security Clearance with successful completion of a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) by the federal government within the last 5 years (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active.)

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience)

* Experience in Linux and Windows systems environment.


* Experience in space systems and working with multi-discipline teams.



Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience)

* Experience with scripting languages (i.e. tcl/tk)


* Experience with software development.


* Experience with Configuration Management tools and processes.


* Experience with integration testing in a simulated environment.


* Experience with Ops Product architecture, design, development, and test



Typical Education / Experience:

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
