Job Description

GPS Embedded Software Engineer

Entry level candidate will join the GPS IIF and III program team in Huntington Beach & El Segundo, California. This position requires experience with low-level embedded real-time software development and is a hands-on position that will involve work in a flight software test laboratory environment, including troubleshooting and integration testing with test/target hardware. The candidate should be experienced with developing low-level software and documentation in a real-time embedded environment. The position will support all phases of the SW development process, including design, development, integration/test and user support. In addition, this job will involve the maintenance and sustainment of requirements, designs, algorithms, and interfaces for GPS flight software products. This position will also require the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.

Qualifications

Typical Education / Experience

* Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

* This position requires an active (or ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US
* Citizenship.Software engineer must have some embedded software development experience in a real-time environment (e.g., Integrity, VxWorks).
* Previous developmental experience with low-level software (such as I/O drivers, bootstrap software, board support packages) is an asset.
* Candidate must have excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills. Should be willing to work on a variety of projects and have an interest in learning emerging technologies.

Desired Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

* Familiarity with GPS Systems, applicable ICDs, and an understanding of navigation message structures and code generation is also a plus.
