Position Overview:

Boeing is seeking an entry level Software Engineer for application and database development in support of satellite software systems in their El Segundo, CA location.

The position will include development of spacecraft system software packages, including command and control systems, and mission products.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Job responsibilities will address all phases of the software development cycle including:
* Requirements and interface definition
* Design and development of state-of-the art software systems for space-based applications
* Software development
* Integration and test
* Configuration management and release
* Product maintenance.
* Position will also require the ability to effectively communicate with internal customers, during development and after product release.
* Candidate will also be expected to manage several parallel tasks as part of a dynamic team of systems and software engineers.

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications:

* Java and C/C++ software development experience required in a Linux/Unix environment.
* Should be willing to work on a variety of projects and take the initiative to explore emerging technologies.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Understanding of Liferay Portal/Portlets is a plus, as well as previous experience with ASCS or SSED.
* Java GUI application development, Java web Portal/Portlet development, proficiency working with common data structures (Java Containers) and algorithms, Web Services, and Web Design.
* Preferred to have experience with VmWare (ESXi, VCenter, VSAN), Tcl/Tk and shell scripts, and SOAP/XML/CORBA/Socket, SSL/TLS/HTTP and Networking.
* Prefer experience with common databases (postgresql, mysql, sqlite), user interface design, and web containers (JBOSS, Tomcat, GlassFish) and the Glassfish application server and Apache web server.
