Job Description

Primary Overview:

Entry-level satellite systems engineer working under mentorship of experienced operations engineer, responsible for operating procedure development and execution for complex satellite systems.

Activities and duties include:

* Working closely with subsystem specialists to understand and define of operations requirements, write and test satellite operating procedures, define and manage ground system interface requirements.
* Empowered to collaborate on innovative solutions to operations approaches, ground software and automation as well as spacecraft design concepts that support streamlined operations.
* May participate in various phases of program life-cycle from concept development to system acceptance requiring flexibility in roles and responsibilities.
* Strong Collaboration skills.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:

Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications:

* Ability to work shifts and weekends during spacecraft mission activities.



Preferred Qualifications:

* Knowledge of MATLAB, Tcl coding, Visual Basic, and other programming experience is desirable.
* Broad systems engineering for space systems and space/ground interfaces.
