Job Description

Position Overview:

Boeing Laser and Electro-Optical Systems (LEOS) is looking for highly skilled and adaptable real-time software engineers to perform design, analysis and test of embedded software solutions.

Engineer would work as part of a multi-disciplinary team supporting the research and development of both directed energy and electro-optical systems.

Primary Responsibilities:

* Work with more senior engineers to develop software modules and integrate into a fully functional software system.
* Developing, documenting, requirements, interfaces and designs for embedded real time software systems.
* Conduct both lab and field testing to verify functionality of developed software.
* Applies knowledge of software engineering methods and tools to define and characterize behavior of products, services, and processes.
* Integrates technical, cost, value, and safety considerations into the product definition to comply with Department of Defense, regulatory, and company requirements.
* Work with other members of project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.
* Works with more senior engineer to determine and develop approaches to solutions.
* Develops, documents, and maintains processes, methods, and tools.
* Helps resolve technical issues that could affect cost, schedule, and performance.
* Ability to develop and interpret requirements, data sets, reports, and specifications is required.

Qualifications

This position requires the ability to obtain a US Security Clearance, for which the US Government requires US Citizenship.

Degree and typical experience in engineering classification:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Basic Qualifications:

* Classroom or work related experience programming/development in C.

Preferred Qualifications:

* Experience w/ model based design (UML).
* Experience developing on or interfacing to Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs).
