Engineer to perform duties of Computer System development and Administration for a network of Linux based servers and client workstations.


- Primary duties are System Admin, network mgmt. and support/maintenance of O/S and application S/W; responding to user system problems, testing/installing new s/w.
- Applicant must have some initial administration experience with Linux, Windows O/S; security, "C" and structured programming; knowledge of Sys Admin procedures and methods.
- Additionally the applicant will be trained the use of routers and switches to analyze and diagnose network problems.
- Must have knowledge of troubleshooting methodology to identify offending components, and initiate corrective action. Works under close supervision.

Typical Education:

Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

- Candidate must have knowledge of COTS Integration with Windows Enterprise Software (WIN) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
- Ability to develop/update/maintain, Perl scripts, Linux shell scripts to support the: installation of WIN, and RHEL, installation of COTS applications, the integration of COTS applications with WIN and RHEL.
- Ability to work within a pre-defined API framework for integrating scripts within WIN/RHEL/COTS deployment framework detailed communication with other team members and management
- Support troubleshooting and fix discrepancies found within WIN/RHEL implementation and/or vendor updates to COTS application

This position requires an active (or the ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Candidate must currently possess or be willing to submit to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with ability to obtain access to Top Secret and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Position is contingent on clearance eligibility and program/customer acceptance, pre-start
