--> POSITION OVERVIEW:

Engineer to perform duties of a complex Network system, for development and support.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Primary duties are network management and support/maintenance application software; responding to user system problems, testing/installing new components.
Applicant must should have some initial administration experience with Cisco types systems, ideally with certifications.
Candidate would also have working knowledge of LAN and WAN topologies, and a high understanding of modern day Network Security systems and design best practices. In addition, the ideal candidate would be familiar with LINIX, Windows O/S; System Security, "C" and structured programming; knowledge of Linux System Administration procedures and methods.
Candidate should have knowledge of or understand how to evaluate and integrate numerous COTS applications onto systems and maintain operation and compatibility.
Some of these applications include VMWare, ESXi, and Microsoft Products.
Additionally the applicant will be trained the use of router, firewalls and switches to analyze and diagnose network problems.
Further, utilization and support of Enterprise storage is a job expectation.
Must have knowledge of troubleshooting methodology to identify offending components, and initiate corrective action. Works under close supervision.

Qualifications

Typical Education / Experience:
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Candidate must have knowledge of COTS Integration with Cisco certifications, or equivalent, Windows Enterprise Software (WIN) or Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL). As with any integrated system, the more knowledge of Networks, Storage, Computing and Software, the better for problem identification and resolution. Ability to work within a pre-defined framework for integrating scripts within WIN/RHEL/COTS deployment framework detailed communication with other team members and management Support troubleshooting and fix discrepancies found within WIN/RHEL implementation and/or vendor updates to COTS application. Experience with Virtual System Design and implementation. Possession of a current SSBI access is required for this position
This position requires an active (or the ability to obtain) U.S. Security Clearance, for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.

Candidate must currently possess or be willing to submit to a Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with ability to obtain access to Top Secret and/or Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).

Position is contingent on clearance eligibility and program/customer acceptance, pre-start
