Job Description

Position Description

Successful candidate will join the Ground and Software Shared IPT in El Segundo, California as part of the Satellite Development Center. Entry level Software engineering position for satellites, ground systems, or test equipment and spacecraft simulations for a team providing customer support of satellite systems, developing communication applications, and performing command and control system development. Activities and duties will be to perform design, development and test of state-of-the art software systems for ground and space-based applications; include requirements and interface definition; software development (code, test, debug, & documentation); maintenance of software development libraries, test reports, and configuration management. This position is required to interact with both internal and external customers. Ability to work in a dynamic team environment on several parallel tasks will be required.

Basic Qualifications For Consideration

Typical Education/Experience

Level 1 - Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Level 2 - Degree and typical experience in engineering classification: Bachelor's and 2 or more years' experience or a Master's degree with experience. Other Job related information

Experience developing software and programming in C++ or Java is desired. A working knowledge of real-time operating systems (VxWorks, IntegrityOS), and tools suites (e.g. Tornado, Workbench, VectorCast), and a basic, top-level familiarity with software configuration management, requirements and formal software test methods and familiarity with Unified Process, Agile software methods, and satellite software architectures is a plus. Candidate must have excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills. An ability to obtain an interim and final clearance (post-start) is required for this position - US Citizenship Required.
