Job Description

The Aerospace Corporation provides objective and independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to military and national security space programs, since its inception in 1960. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office and support all national security space programs. If this describes you, the Computer Systems Research Department at The Aerospace Corporation is looking for an early career R&D team member who wants to apply and innovate their skills in one or more of these areas, to create advanced prototypes and systems that solve challenging problems that influence our customers' future, and to explore new research areas and themes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with research team leads to develop and expand current pathfinder efforts and prototypes
  • Participate in knowledge production -- customer presentations, technical monographs, external publications
  • Build the department's reputation for investigative and applied R&D in the computational intelligence area by identifying and advocating new topics and themes worthy of future R&D investment
  • Assist in oversight and reporting activities for military and national security space systems

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in computer science, computer engineering or highly related field required.
  • Ability to express ideas as software in one or more languages (e.g., Python, Java, R, Javascript, C/C++, Haskell, Lisp, &), familiarity with tools, libraries, frameworks that are commonly used to experiment in computational intelligence (e.g., Caffe, pylearn2, &) required
  • Ability to communicate effectively with technical collaborators and project leaders highly desired
  • Ability to work independently on multiple projects with different focus areas is required
  • Secret clearance or ability to obtain required.
