Job Description

  • Perform mathematical and engineering analyses.
  • Develop algorithms and software related to orbital mechanics and trajectory estimation.
  • Conduct mission performance, optimization, and tradeoff studies.
  • Create new programs as well as augment major existing software systems, including design, testing, and documentation.
  • Interact with program office, contractors, Air Force, NASA, and other government agencies.

The Aerospace Corporation has provided independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space programs since 1960. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office and support all national security space programs. We also apply more than 50 years of experience with space systems to projects for civil agencies like NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, commercial companies, universities, and international organizations in the national interest.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science.
  • Competence in astrodynamics, orbital mechanics, computer programming, and engineering analyses is desirable, as well as familiarity with numerical techniques.
  • Experience using PC platforms and the UNIX operating system are also desirable.
  • Good oral/written communication skills are necessary.
