Job Description

The Aerospace Corporation has provided independent technical and scientific research, development, and advisory services to national security space programs since 1960. We operate a federally funded research and development center (FFRDC) for the United States Air Force and the National Reconnaissance Office and support all national security space programs.

We also apply more than 50 years of experience with space systems to projects for civil agencies like NASA and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, commercial companies, universities, and international organizations in the national interest.

  • Support projects in the design, analysis, simulation, and system engineering of all types of communication systems, including spaced-based military and commercial systems and terrestrial wireless radio systems.
  • Support the evaluation of link performance in the presence of noise, fading, interference, and jamming employing advanced channel coding and modulation techniques.
  • Provide program offices with system design and engineering support as well as concept study and development.
  • Support projects in system integration and generating system and subsystem requirements.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required; advance degree is highly preferred.
  • A minimum of 8 years post-B.S. experience is required.
  • Experience with communication systems design, analysis, evaluation, modeling, simulation, and/or system engineering is required.
  • Experience with communication tool development and satellite payload design is required.
  • Knowledge of system integration and test data analysis is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of channel modeling, waveform design (modulation and coding), acquisition, synchronization, AJ/AS techniques, signal processing, link budget assessment, and RFI/CCI/ACI analysis is highly desired
  • Experience with technical leadership is highly desired.
  • The ability to effectively present results in briefings and technical reports is important.
  • Strong team participation concept and interpersonal skills are needed.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.
  • Current secret clearance, or the ability to obtain one, is required.
